Carter has become OBSESSED with Woody from Toy Story. He is almost never without his Woody hat and Woody dolls. About 10 days ago, I started napping Luke and Carter in separate rooms and to appease Carter by not having Luke in the room with him, I told him he could sleep with Woody (I normally don't allow toys in their room because it tends to cause fighting and sometimes even injury) ... worked wonders!!! When he has to put them down to eat or bathe, he tends to freak out if he thinks someone else is going to get them ... a frequent phrase is, "No Lukey get 'em" He is such a funny little boy!!!

THEY ARE A MESS!!!!!! That is pretty much all I can say about Luke and Carter. I smelled something stinky coming from their room so I decided to go in and change Luke's diaper, and this is how I found them. So much for nap time today. What am I going to do with these little rascals? Gotta love 'em :)

We had such a fun Christmas!!! My parents were in town and we spent Christmas Eve morning at Jackson's house. Then we came home for naps and Kevin's parents arrived and we had a low-key afternoon and evening ... and a long night since it took us 2+ hours to put together a toy :) Christmas morning came with lots of excitement and a great lunch with both sets of grandparents!! Kevin's sister's family stopped through town and ate dinner and played with the boys. We stayed in our pjs ALL day long and were pooped at the end of the day. It truly was a great day celebrating the birth of baby Jesus!!

Movie Night

We had movie night last night and watched Happy Feet. Luke and Carter actually sat on the couch and watched for about 15 min, which may be their record for sitting still. They kept pointing to the tv and saying "penguin, dance." Graham liked and it and maybe over Christmas break I can find time to take him to see Happy Feet 2 in the theater.

Thanksgiving in Memphis

We spent Thanksgiving in Memphis and had a FABULOUS time, but I have almost no pictures to show ... I was a complete delinquent about getting out my camera :( Trips to Memphis are always filled with tons of time with all 4 grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and my boys eat up every second of it!! Luke and Carter loved the "big jeep" rides and the hot tub and Graham enjoyed his first (of many, i hope :)) sleep-over with the McCallas and had a blast. The food was delicious, weather was incredible, and no way to beat the company ... all in all, it was a great low-key weekend.

Vandy Game

We took all 3 boys to the Vandy/Kentucky football game this a.m. and all had a great time!! And we won, which made it even better. Graham has become quite the football fan this season ... he asks so many questions (imagine that) and has a pretty good understanding of the rules of the game. Every time there's a game on tv that we're watching, he asks, "Daddy, who are we rooting for?" And he loves to look on the tv and tell us the score. As for Luke and Carter, anytime there is ANY football game on tv, they look up at the tv and shout, "Go Vandy!!"

We went with the Toy Story theme for costumes this year, and I must say everyone looked adorable :) We had a VERY fun filled night of trick-or-treating and were still able to get everyone home, bathed, and in bed by 7:45. Speaking of bed, we're making some headway with Luke and Carter ... we took the front bar off of their cribs, so no more climbing but they always fall asleep on the floor. Anyway, our weather was great and all 3 boys loved eating some candy and being with friends and family!!

Luke and Carter started crawling out of their cribs last Saturday. We went 4 days straight with no nap and they finally napped yesterday and today on the floor ... after 1.5+ hours of playing. They have DESTROYED their room ... diapers, wipes, clothes strewn everywhere, taken off their pants AND diapers, only broken one thing (thankfully), and after Luke fell asleep on the floor I moved him to his bed and 10 min. later I checked on them and Carter crawled out of his own crib and climbed in Luke's crib to wake him up. I'm telling you, I've seriously lost all control!!!!! We're traveling to Birmingham tomorrow and I have no idea what our sleeping future holds ... we'll see if pack-n-plays are any better ... sorry, Robin!!

We had a really fun Sat. morning at the pumpkin patch. The weather was perfect and all 3 boys had a blast!! We played with some friends, took a hay ride, said cock-a-doodle-doo with the rooster, played in the corn, ate some snacks and a picnic lunch, and truly enjoyed the sunshine!!

Kevin and I got to go to Chicago this past weekend with our dear friends Kyle and Courtney ... Kyle ran the marathon yesterday and did awesome!! Kevin's parents came to town on Friday afternoon and we got to celebrate Kevin's birthday before we headed out Sat. a.m. Our weather could not have been more perfect and our trip went off without a hitch. We did a lot of eating, shopping, and just hanging out. It was a really low-key trip with great friends!! Thanks to Pops and Gigi and also Shannon and Margie for helping out with our boys ... we feel blessed to have family that is willing and - even better happy - to keep our boys ... they all had a blast with everyone :)

Kevin's parents gave all the boys a jumpy for their birthdays, and I can't even begin to tell you how much use we've gotten out of it already. I even overheard Jake say, "Graham's house is the best now!" And our next door neighbors are over on it pretty much every time it's out. It has provided loads of entertainment, and it was the perfect time to get it because our weather has been insane lately. It does fit in our den when we push back the furniture, so just know we'll definitely be setting it up some with the long winter days ahead!!

My little boy turned 4 today!!!! He had a birthday party at Monkey Joe's yesterday, a birthday breakfast at Pancake Pantry with Bet Bet, cupcakes at school, a trip to Sweet CeCe's with Daddy, and then even more cake tonight at home ... can we say sugar-overload. As I'm typing this, he just came out of his room to tell me that his belly hurts :) I think he may go into depression tomorrow when he finds out that it's 364 (no 365 ... it's leap year) days until his next birthday. I do believe that he felt VERY special today ... and that's exactly what he is. Graham, I love your energy and zest for life. Your endurance and the way you face challenges inspires me ... I feel like I can learn a lot from you in this area. I love your excitement and your pure joy!! I love how much fun you and your brothers have together ... oh, how I pray that y'all will continue to stay close. I love that you still hold my hand and let me hold, hug, and kiss you on a multi-daily basis. Thank you for being my initial partner in this journey of motherhood that I'm trying so desperately to do well and love you with Jesus's love. Thank you for your grace and forgiveness as I know I fail daily. I love you, my precious Graham, with all that is within me and am so excited to continue to watch you grow and know that I feel forever blessed to be your mommy.

School is back!!!!!!!!!!! All 3 boys had their first day of school yesterday and everyone had a great day :) We had a whole lot of togetherness during the month of August, so I think everyone (including me ... ok let's get serious, especially me) enjoyed some time away. I am very thankful for Woodmont Baptist and the incredible staff that love my boys and teach them about Jesus.

My baby boys are 2 years old which is so hard to believe. Jackson and kids, Tom, and our next door neighbors came over last night for dinner and cake, then today Kevin and I took all the boys out to lunch and for cupcakes, then finished the night out at the 9th grade MBA football game ... all in all, I think they had a great birthday!! I kept asking them today how old they were and they said "2" with BIG smiles. I feel so blessed to have spent almost every day with them over the past two years. Luke, I love your huge smile and that you are such a lover and give great big hugs. Your laugh is one of my most favorite sounds on the planet. And Carter, I love your inquisitive nature and how you love figuring things out. Your mischievous little smile brightens my day and oh how I love your tight squeezes. You boys truly do seem to love each other and love being together and laughing together ... I am over the moon for your tight bond and can't wait to continue to watch it grow. I love you both with a mighty love!!

We just returned home from a trip to Orlando, and boy did we all have a blast. The 5 of us and Kevin's parents spent 4 days at Orange Lake and Kev and I got to take Graham to Disney for a day :) We spent the majority of our time in the pool and lazy river and really just chilled a lot. Experiencing the Magic Kingdom through Graham's eyes was truly magical, and we were so grateful to Pops and Gigi for staying with Luke and Carter so that we could truly focus on Graham. The only sad thought for me is that I don't know if we'll ever be able to experience that alone with Luke and Carter ... I guess that's just life with multiple kids. Anyway, I felt like it was a great close to a great summer!!

18 Days

It is 18 days until Luke and Carter's 2nd birthday, and they were born 18 days before Graham's 2nd birthday. Looking at them now and thinking about what a baby Graham was when they were born blows my mind and makes me wonder how on earth we did it!! Those were precious days and I have so many fond memories of them, but I'm definitely glad we are where we are now :) It's amazing how much more manageable things have gotten as they have become more independent. I can't imagine what it will be like when even 2 more years pass. One of my favorite things about motherhood is the fact that while I tend to be happy to pass through one stage there are always things about it that I miss.

We just returned from Sea Island with the Hutchinson's (my dad's sister's family) and boy did we all have a blast. It'd been way too long since we'd all been together. Now, before you start jumping to conclusions, I am NOT pregnant ... and even if I were, I'd have to say 5 kids because I just know that if I ever get pregnant again, it will definitely be twins again (twin boys at that). We kept our nephew, Walt, this weekend while Jackson and Margie took Jake and Evie to Chattanooga. We all had a lot of fun and it was nice having a baby around to hold and feed bottles. I've been saying lately that Luke and Carter still seem like babies to me while when Graham was their age he seemed like such a big boy ... it's hard to believe that in 2 weeks, they will be the exact age that Graham was when they were born. But having Walt here, they definitely seemed like big boys :) Graham was sweet with him and liked feeding him his bottles. L&C probably said "Alt" 100 times and were pretty good with him ... I could tell Luke was a little jealous. Glad to help out and get some extra loving from Walt :)

8th Anniversary

We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary a few weeks late in Greensboro, GA at Reynolds Plantation. It was pure heaven ... some sleeping in, a little golf for Kev, a massage at the spa for me, lots of chill time at the pool, great conversation and fun just being the two of us. We left trying to figure out when we can go back!! My parents kept the boys here at our house and all had a great time ... thanks SOOOOO much Snacks and Bet Bet.

Ok, so here it is ... my first post on my new iMac. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't as easy as I hoped. It's definitely different from a PC ... I know I'll get used to it but it will take some time. And I tried and tried to upload another picture that Kevin sent me in an email, but I couldn't figure it out. Anyway, we've had a nice relief in the squelchering heat and have spent long afternoons outside. Kev called me from work yesterday and said he couldn't take it anymore and just had to get to Omaha for the College World Series, so he booked a 6 a.m. flight out this morning and arrives back home at 11:50 tonight. Vandy lost today :( but he had a great time!! Poor Graham has been making me sad at bedtime lately ... he keeps telling me that he wants someone to sleep with him. He says that Luke and Carter get to sleep together and Daddy and Mommy get to sleep together but no one sleeps with him :( I feel bad for him but not enough to remedy the situation. I told him that maybe when he's 6 and L&C are 4 we can talk about them all sharing a room ... I'm sure by then he'll want to have his own room!!

I've been a blog slacker lately ... it's partly due to not having anything blog-worthy to post, my struggle with Graham not staying in his room for rest time very well since summer began which means VERY little "me time" during the day and by night time I am incredibly exhausted and do not feel like updating, and Kevin gave me a new iMac computer for my birthday ... yes, VERY exciting but also a bit intimidating. I haven't even tried uploading pictures to it yet ... again a combination of not taking any pics and me being too tired to get on the computer and learn it. I'll get there (don't worry, Katie). My goal this week is to take some cute pics of the boys, upload them on my new computer, maybe even do some editing in iPhoto, and post ... I'm sure you will all be waiting with bated breath :)

Sea Island, GA is definitely a little slice of heaven. It doesn't hurt that I'm spoiled rotten while there with great weather, yummy food, action-packed activities and constant companions for my kids, sisters-in-law who are all about getting sitters so that it's actually a vacation for us mommies, fabulous golf for our men, and I really could go on and on. My parents are insanely generous and go all out to make our week together so wonderful ... thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Boy do these little guys love each other :) Luuu and Car-Car are the names that they call each other and all they seem to do is laugh together!! I got a rare treat ... a 25 hour break from Graham (Jackson's family took him with them down to visit my grandfather in Clanton, AL ... again, I can't say thank you enough) and some true alone time with just my little guys. We had time to read lots of books, extra snuggle time, and they even got to play in Graham's room ... shhh, don't tell Graham. I know I've said it before, but I truly feel blessed to have twins!!!!

I feel like my yard is under siege with all of the cicadas here in Nashville right now. Graham loves them and Luke and Carter like to find them and say "bug" but one time Luke touched one and its wings fluttered and he was beyond petrified. They really are EVERYWHERE and are SO loud in the afternoons ... I'm not going to lie, I don't think I'm going to miss them over the next 13 years :)

We had a good Easter weekend ... our health wasn't superb (nor did it continue with me coming down with the stomach bug on Mon. and Kev on Tue.), but we powered through and had a lot of fun family time. We were at the park on Sunday afternoon and the boys were playing together and Kevin and I just looked at each other and smiled knowing exactly what the other was thinking ... these 3 boys really love each other and laugh at each other and just truly have a blast together. God has immensely blessed us with these precious lives, and I can't wait to continue on this journey of raising our boys!!

School Easter Egg Hunt

Phew ... we made it to Thursday and the Easter Egg Hunt at school. We have seen WAY better weeks in the Geshke house. Graham had a 4 day stomache bug and Carter fell and bit his tongue so badly that it sends shivers down my spine every time I look at it. He was in a lot of pain shortly after it happened but he's happy and surprisingly eating fine. All the boys had fun at their hunt ... Luke was the least into it, which did not surprise me one bit. We've got a few more hunts over the next few days and are looking forward to our Easter weekend. I was saying something to Graham about Sunday and that it was Easter and then I asked him if he new what was special about Easter, and he replied with a big smile, "Jesus is alive!" Amen to that, sweet boy :)

I'm afraid that this past Sat. was the first day of the rest of my life ... Graham had his first soccer game. I can only imagine how many sporting events I will attend for my boys over the next 20+ years!! He looked ADORABLE in his uniform and had a blast. He followed the rules well, was excited to play when it was his turn, and was fine to sit out when it wasn't his turn to play. And of course, he LOVED the snack and juice box after the game :)

Spring Break in Memphis

That's what these little boys of mine do best!!!! I know I am completely biased, but Luke and Carter are the absolute cutest things in the whole world. I JUST WANT TO EAT THEM UP!!!!!!!! They also have a fabulous role model, Graham ... I was swinging him today and our conversation went like this:

Me: Do you know who I love?

Graham: Who?

Me: You

G: Do you know who I love?

G: You and Daddy and Luke and Carter. Pauses for a few seconds and says, Do you know who else I love?

God knew exactly what he was doing when he gave me these 3 precious little boys to love and mold to become men after His own heart. They truly do melt a little more and more of my heart everyday :)

Graham has gotten VERY into his legos lately ... which is especially great for me since he is not napping very much these days. He always has new buildings, airplanes, cars, etc. built when I let him out of his room at 3. And he has shed quite a few tears when Luke and/or Carter sneak into his room and knock them down. My neighbor told me that she heard Atlanta is opening up a Lego Land ... we will definitely have to hit it up sometime soon :)

On our way home from church yesterday, we looked at Graham's picture and craft and were asking him questions about them and what he learned. He told us that Jesus helped a man not be dead anymore. We asked if he knew the man's name and he said "Lazzzz ...." We helped him out by asking him if it was Lazarus and he said yes. The Great Outdoors

The past 2 1/2 months made me forget how wonderful life is when we can go outside on an almost daily basis. We have played outside almost every afternoon for the past 2 weeks, and I can't tell you the difference it has made in everyone's moods (mine specifically). Graham has already become a pro on his new razor scooter he got for Christmas :) We're debating whether or not to take the training wheels off of his bike soon ... tips and/or thoughts, anyone? I've also discovered that my triple stroller has gotten heavier and harder to push since the fall :) I know we still have some cold days ahead, but I'm just happy that the brunt of winter is behind us. Sorry no pics to post, but we really haven't been doing anything blog-worthy lately. Don't worry ... all 3 Geshke boys are still cute as ever. Pics coming soon!!

Last night after I got everyone ready for bed, we were playing in the den with the balls in the baby pool (yes, I brought it back out for a winter indoor activity). Carter waddled over to me and I noticed something funny about his pants ... I looked and he had two balls stuffed down the back. Then I turn around to see Luke who had 7-8 balls down his pants. I burst out laughing and asked, "Graham did you do that to him?" He responded affirmatively with a big grin :) The best part was that Luke acted like everything was normal. Oh, the joys of living with a 3 year old!!!

That's about all I can say about this past weekend. In early Dec. Kevin said his mom asked what we wanted for Christmas ... I half-jokingly responded, "I don't want a single thing except for your parents to come here for the weekend and keep the boys so we can have a getaway." Done!! Pops and Gigi arrived in Nashville a little after 4 on Fri. and we hit 65-N about 4:30 and drove up to Louisville. We had a yummy dinner and made our way to our hotel in downtown by 10. You don't know the joy we felt going to bed knowing that no one was going to wake us up :) We slept in and went down the spa for massages then to lunch and a movie (The King's Speech is great, by the way). Back to the hotel to chill a bit before another yummy dinner. ANOTHER morning to sleep in on Sunday and back to Nashville ... we ate lunch at Marche (I've been dying to try their Sunday brunch) before getting back to the boys around 2:30. All 3 boys were great for Pops and Gigi and the weather was so nice that they got to play outside a lot ... which is huge for my 3 rambunctious little ones. Thanks again SO much Pops and Gigi for enjoying our boys and giving us some time to enjoy being just us again!!!!!

Double Trouble

I've found that the trouble that one toddler can get into doubles when you have twins, esp. if they are boys, it seems. I swear one of them will scheme up something and rope the other into joining him. What's it going to be like when they can really talk to each other and come up with even crazier schemes ... or better yet, when Graham actually initiates it :) Luke and Carter have definitely been keeping me on my toes lately. They are big-time climbers, drawer/cabinet emptiers, and closet destroyers ... just to name a few. I really don't think they ever sit still for more than 20 seconds. BUT, they seriously are the cutest things ever, and I do believe that I could sit and listen to them laugh at each other for hours. They really do have a lot of fun together ... I am SO happy they have each other!!!!!!!!!

I made it!! I just survived week 1 of Kevin being out of town for 3 weeks in a row :( It was a LOOOOONG week, and the snow, well-below freezing temps, school AND bible study being cancelled, and most of our playmates being sick did not help one bit. We spent A LOT of time at our house and all got a bit stir crazy at times. All in all, though, it was ok, actually maybe better than ok. However, I am definitely happy that I have 3 boys to bed right now and Kevin just called to say his plane has landed, so he should be home in the next 30 min. or so. Here's to hoping weeks 2 and 3 are even better!!

Sea Island

We had a fabulous getaway to Sea Island with my parents and brothers' families last week for New Years. We are now officially outnumbered ... 9 kids and only 8 adults. We got to spend a lot of time outdoors, had tons of great food to eat, and truly enjoyed being together. It was a great week ... thanks for everything, Snacks and Bet Bet!!!!!

WOW!!!! We had an INCREDIBLE Christmas!! It was our first time to stay home and wake up in our own home on Christmas morning. Graham came into our room at 7 and told us that Santa ate his cookies and left a scooter, tent, and shopping cart. He was SO excited and it was SO fun to watch him. Luke and Carter were clueless but had lots of fun playing with new toys. We all stayed in our jammies pretty much all day and only got out once a little before 5 to go look at some Christmas lights. Oh, and we had a white Christmas ... it couldn't have been much more perfect :)

Jesus, a twin?!?!?

Graham has been playing with our nativity scene nonstop since we put it out ... don't laugh if you come over and see that I have brought it back down from the attic in July!! I always find the pieces in very interesting places, and sometimes I'll stand back and listen ... I've heard, "Hi, I'm Jesus. I'm going to climb the ladder." and "Hey, little sheep I'm going to throw you on the roof." It's quite entertaining!! Earlier this week, I found that he had gotten the other baby Jesus from our other nativity scene and added it to the big one. I guess his sweet little brain thinks that 2 babies is normal. I often wonder how different Graham's life would be if he had just gotten one sibling instead of twins. I feel like he was a bit forced to grow up a little faster than his peers ... I had so little time to "baby" him since I had 2 true babies to care for. And I'm probably creating him to be a homebody since we spend A LOT of time at home because it's just hard to go out with 3 small kids alone. I also wonder what the dynamics of their relationships will be as they all grow older. Will Graham be just as close to the twins as any brothers 23 months apart or will it be different because Luke and Carter have a special bond as twins? Anyway, enough deep thoughts ... hope everyone out there is enjoying the true meaning of Christmas - the birth of our Savior. Graham can't wait to celebrate Jesus's birthday and have cupcakes and open presents for him because "he's too little to open presents, Mommy, he's just a baby" :)

I subjected my children (Luke and Carter) not only once but TWICE to crying today ... and I'm not talking a few tears, it was full-on wailing :( The first time was necessary and for their continued good health. Their 15 month check-up went well ... skinny boy Carter has moved up to the 8th percentile for weight (he was a whopping 20 lbs. 10 oz). Luke weighed in at 24 lbs. 3 oz. and measured just half an inch longer than Carter. Most people comment on how they look the same size, but I always tell them to pick them up and then they can really tell the difference. We had my favorite nurse today (she's a grandmother to 19 month old twin girls) and she commented on how blessed we are to have such healthy twins. I truly am SO grateful for ALL of my boys' great health!! On to crying take 2 ... now this one was a rite of passage. We went to the mall to see Santa. Graham was excited and had a smile on his face the whole time ... Luke and Carter, not so much. Santa was cute and stood up to tell me after I paid (yes, to make matters worse I paid $16 to make my kids cry) that as he was talking to Graham asking him what he wanted for Christmas, he was being a little shy but when he asked what Luke and Carter wanted, Graham got very animated and shouted, "nothing." I'll try to be nicer to the boys tomorrow :)

I've got yet ANOTHER new nephew!!! Jackson and Margie had a precious baby boy on Sunday night ... Walt William Moore, 8 lbs. 12 oz. (they think ... apparently the scale was off, so they're not exactly sure) and 20 in. I remember thinking how excited I was to find out he was a boy in June because Graham is OBSESSED with Jake and now hopefully Walt will LOVE Luke and Carter in the same way. So fun that my boys have SO many boy cousins!!!

We had a really fun Halloween!! Graham has been talking about it all week ... each day asking how many more days. He put his costume on as soon as he woke up from his nap, and then we went over to Jackson's house to play and eat an early dinner before trick-or-treating on Nichol Lane. My college roommate, Jodie, and her husband Jeff came to town this weekend for Vandy's Homecoming and stayed with us. I was elated for many reasons ... we always have a blast together, I hadn't seen them since their wedding (1.5 yrs ago ... too long), they've never met the twins, and most importantly Kevin was out of town, so I was VERY happy to have some company. Jeff played golf at Vandy so Graham was excited to show off his skills in the backyard and loved the attention. Whenever they weren't around or still asleep (ahhh ... the days), Graham would ask, "where's Jeff?" or "when is Jeff getting up?" He would also ask, "where's the girl?" :) Don't worry Jodie, he asked for you by name today ... of course, he did ask for Jeff first!! We had our fair share of mishaps this weekend (Graham closed himself in Kevin's car trunk, I ran to rescue him with Carter in my arms and fell and hurt both of us, I left my wallet at home TWICE, my car wouldn't start, etc), but such is life, well my crazy life anyway. Jodie made a great analogy about my kids that I think is hilarious ... she said watching all 3 of them is like watching dogs play. They rough-house like crazy and you think they are really hurting each other but they are just having fun and one may yelp every now and again but they are always ready for more :) Sorry I didn't get any pictures, but thanks again for coming and all of the fun!!

Graham has been making me laugh this week ... story #1: He asked to drink his juice in a cup from the cabinet. I pulled it down and it had this little toy doggie in the bottom part, and he looked at me with all seriousness and asked, "Mommy, is that a real dog?" It's so funny to try to get inside the mind of a 3 year old :) Story #2: He was "playing baseball" this morning - with a whisk, mind you - and he ran into Luke and Carter's room since I was changing Luke's (I think) diaper, and said, "They got me out. I'm going to the locker room," and he walked into the closet and closed the door behind himself. And my favorite ... story #3: I started a smiley face chart to try to motivate Graham to stay in his room after putting him to bed (once he gets 5, he gets to go out for ice cream). Last night he came out once to go poop, so I decided to give him half of a smiley face. He was up early this morning and ate cereal and played before we got up. I didn't see his chart on the fridge, so I did some investigating and found that he had gotten into the markers in the playroom. He had scribbled all over a different piece of paper, but the only mark on his chart was him trying to draw in the other half of his smiley face :)

Pumpkin Patch

Not only are WE blessed with lots of little boys, but so many of our dear friends in Nashville are too :) We loaded up and drove down to Franklin to Gentry Farms Pumpkin Patch on Sat. morning to meet up with the McFarlands and Madisons. We have 7 little boys 3 and under between our 3 families, so it is always fun chaos when we get together!! The weather was perfect and everyone had a blast ... hopefully we can make it an annual tradition!!

Girls Trip

My mom took my sisters-in-law and me on a little girls trip to Florence, AL almost 2 weeks ago, and boy, did we have a BLAST!!!! Spa time, shopping, eating well, sleeping in, talking, etc. The 4 of us are definitely on the same page when it comes to relaxing and having time away from our kids/husband, and it's even better that we truly do love being together. We talked about past trips and the memories we have made and even starting planning some future trips as well :) It does sadden me that I will most likely never have a daughter, but I am hopeful to have wonderful daughters-in-law. I am already praying for Godly women for my 3 boys and wonderful relationships for all of us. Thanks again, Mom, for such a fun time ... until next year!!

When Graham came into our room this morning, I said "Graham, do you know what today is?" He said no, so I told him it was his birthday ... he then, said, "I want to tell Daddy," so he poked Kevin and said, "Daddy, it's my birthday. I'm 3!!!!" I'm pretty sure Graham had a pretty great day ... we went to church, then he and Kev played golf and ate lunch at Richland, then came home for a great nap, and then finished off the day having Jackson's family and our next door neighbors over for dinner, cupcakes, and playing. He must have been pretty excited because he came out of his room 4 times after we put him to bed and the last time, he said, "I just can't go to sleep." It really is shocking to me that it has been 3 whole years since I gave birth to that little boy. I feel so blessed to have him in my life and I love him with every ounce of my being. Graham, I love your excitement for life and that you are always willing and ready for fun, your confidence, your passion, that you still let me hug, kiss, and hold you, that you LOVE your Daddy and doing fun things with him, that you can distinguish between your brothers' cries, that you love reading your Bible book and learning stories about Jesus, and SOOOOO much more. I'm so happy that you had such a fun day, and I hope you felt special because that's exactly what you are.

Graham made his 3rd ER visit in just under 3 years (his birthday is tomorrow). He got 4 staples in the back of his head. I mean, what are we going to do with this kid?!?!?! He and Jake were playing tug-o-war with a toy and Graham fell backwards onto the baseboard or little step going into our kitchen ... this is the best story we could get out of them as to what happened, since none of the 4 adults present witnessed the accident. A trip to the ER is just what I wanted upon returning from my girls trip (more on that later) ... Katie and I were just saying this morning how quickly vacation ends once you return. At least it didn't happen while I was away. And at least he shouldn't scar too badly since it will be hidden in his hair. Until next time ....

Luke and Carter started MDO last week ... they go on Fridays from 9-1. Luke was a little sad when I dropped him off, but his teacher said he was happy and had a good day, as did Carter. It was awfully nice to have some time to myself and run a bunch of errands without any kiddos (Graham goes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays). I sure do love my boys and all the time I get to spend with them, but I am also thankful for a little time away :)

12 Months Old

Happy Birthday Luke and Carter!!!! It truly is mind-boggling that my baby boys are 1 year old today. They actually aren't really babies anymore ... drinking whole milk solely from a sippy cup, walking, saying a few words ... how is it possible that they are already toddlers? I was telling someone the other day that I LOVE having twins. Sure, it's twice the work and definitely crazy at my house sometimes (ok, a lot of times) but watching firsthand the special bond that they have and being a part of it and knowing that with God's help Kevin and I created it is indescribable. They have brought me SO much joy over the past year, and I feel forever blessed to be their mommy and have the opportunity to stay home with them. Luke, I love your infectious smile, your laid-back attitude, the way you suck your 2 fingers backwards, that you will eat almost anything and a lot of it, that you cry for me when I leave the room (ok, sometimes I don't like it), how you laugh at both of your brothers, that you love giving your daddy high-fives, and so much more. Carter, I love your mischievous little grin, your confidence, your diligence, that you are a little dare-devil, that you call me "Mommy," how you laugh at both of your brothers, esp. Graham, and more and more. Luke and Carter, I am so excited that you have each other, and I absolutely cannot wait to watch your special bond continue to grow. I love you both more than words can say!!!!!

Bedroom Makeover

Kevin and I hadn't done anything to our bedroom since we moved in over 2 years ago and decided it was time. With the help from a fabulous decorator, Rachel Halvorson, and a wonderful contractor, Tony Payne, we couldn't be happier with how our new room has turned out. We LOVE it and smile everytime we walk past it or into it!!

I took the boys to Memphis last week ... my parents brought my almost 94 year old grandfather in for the day for a visit. It was SO great to have all the kids together ... we sure do have A LOT of little kiddos, and there's one more on the way. PaPa said multiple times, "I've never seen so many little ones running around." I sure hope he enjoyed his time as much as we did and continues to talk about this day for a while.

11 Months Old

Luke and Carter are 11 months old ... time truly has flown by. I can't believe they will be 1 year old in just a month. Both say "mama" and "ball" and are taking 4-5 steps independently. They have a ball together and LOVE Graham ... especially Carter .... he laughs at him all of the time. Graham told me the other day that Carter was his favorite brother because he played with him :) Luke loves giving high fives and is very proud of himself when he does something. Carter is a bit feisty and definitely gets a little angry when he doesn't get his way or someone takes his toy. They really are the cutest things in the whole wide world!!!!!

That is the question of the hour, no minute. I probably hear this from Graham at least 50 times a day. I told Kevin I was going to count one day how many times he asks me "why" ... i really will do it one day ... keep checking back and I'll let you know :) I know he's little and is learning the world, and I know every kid goes through this questioning phase, but it's rather torturous at times. I've even resorted to responding the dreaded mother phrase, "because I said so." I was just telling someone last night that not a day goes by that Graham doesn't do/say something to make me laugh and/or smile, BUT that also not a day goes by that he doesn't do/say something that makes me want to wring his little neck. Earlier this week, we were riding in the car and I asked Graham what he wanted to talk about, and he said, "I want to talk about Jesus. When he wore the flag." I asked him what flag? And he said "the flag on his head," and I asked him like a shepherd? And he said, "yeah, like a shepherd." The things that come out of his mouth are priceless!!!! He's been getting really excited watching Luke and Carter starting to take steps (by the way, Luke took about 5 today), and he loves when they "talk." I just know he's going to have a blast when they can really start playing with him. I love how much he loves them :) What a wonderfully unique family dynamic we have ... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

We went to Pickwick for the 4th with my parents and Jackson's family. We had some minor mishaps (Graham burnt his fingers on a sparkler, a firework went haywire and sent our double, yes double, stroller into flames, we got stranded on the boat, etc), but we had TONS of fun and LOTS of good eating!! It was a great retreat, and I think as my boys age they are REALLY going to love going to the lake.

ANOTHER new nephew

Joseph James Moore was born around 2:30 p.m. on Thur, July 8 weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. and measuring 20 in. Wilson and Katie had their 3rd baby boy bringing my parents up to 7 grandsons (with one more on the way) and only 1 granddaughter ... we've got a lot of testosterone going on in this family :) I was super excited to be in Memphis when he was born ... he is my first nephew/niece to see in the hospital and meet on his actual birthday. Wilson and Katie are doing great and loving on their precious new miracle that God has so graciously bestowed upon them!!

10 Months Old

Our little buddies are 10 months old!!! This was by far the hardest month to take a picture of them together in the chair ... I was literally sweating once I was finished :) Aside from sleeping through the night, they have hit the best (in my opinion) milestone ... feeding themselves!!!!! They are fully on table foods now, and while I feel like I spend a lot of my day chopping food into little pieces, it is so nice to put them in their highchairs and just put food on their trays and let them have at it. They are awesome eaters and sometimes even eat more than Graham. Still crawling, pulling up, and cruising ... Luke will stand without holding onto anything for a few seconds but neither are taking any steps yet. They truly do enjoy playing with one another and it warms my heart when they smile, laugh, and squeal at each other. They truly are 2 precious baby boys!!!!!!!!

Happy 7th Anniversary

Kevin and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary yesterday ... it blows my mind to think of all that has transpired in the past 7 years. We watched our wedding video with Graham last night ... he seemed a bit confused on who some people were because everyone looked SO young!! We took our first kid-less trip last weekend to Greenwood, MS and stayed at The Alluvian. After dropping the kids in Memphis (my parents kept the twins and Kevin's parents kept Graham), I asked Kevin on our road trip down to MS what he wanted most from this weekend getaway. He responded that he wanted to eat well and sleep A LOT ... we definitely accomplished both!! We ate at Iris in Memphis on Thur. night for dinner, The Hollywood in Tunica for lunch on Fri, Giardina's in Greenwood for dinner, The Crystal Grill for lunch on Sat, and then we took a cooking class at The Viking Cooking School and cooked our own scrumptous dinner Sat. night. We also got massages at the Alluvian spa on Sat :) We had such a sweet time being together - talking, laughing, and just being us again. I love our 3 boys like crazy and all the joy they bring, but first and foremost I love my man and am utterly grateful for the relationship we have. Hope we have another 60+ years!!!!!!!

WOW!!! What a weekend we had!! I turned the big 3-0 on Friday, and Kevin treated me right. He took Graham and me out to lunch and then came home early from work, so that Margie could take me out for a birthday pedicure. I returned home to find his parents at our house (a total surprise) and they kept Luke and Carter while Jackson and Margie let Graham spend the night, so that Kevin and I could stay at a hotel and sleep in ... pure heaven!!! Pops and Gigi stayed the whole weekend and we had so much fun playing with them and going out to some good meals ... we joked that our kids ate out more in 3 days than in the past 6 months ... oh what you can do when you have extra hands around :) It truly was such a great weekend full of celebration!!

ER Visit, take 2

Yes, this is already our second visit to the ER and Graham is still only 2 years old AND we're only on boy #1 here. With 3 boys, I'm afraid I may come to know the ER staff at Vanderbilt on a first name basis :) Graham had just woken up from his nap, and I brought Luke and Carter into his room and we were all playing around in there. Graham opened up the little door under his window seat (on Carter's toes I might add) then walked over towards his bed and when he came back he tripped and fell smack on his face on the corner of the open door. He cried pretty hard right when it happened but calmed down quickly and then was so brave throughout the rest of the process. Thankfully Kevin was on his way home and he took Graham straight to Vandy while I stayed and waited for a babysitter to come stay with the twins, so I could go be with my boy. We hardly waited at all and they put some numbing cream on it then we had to wait 45 min. for that to settle in. They gave Graham a nose spray medicine to relax him and it made him so loopy ... he looked at Kevin and said, "Daddy, you have 2 heads." The doctor gave him 3 stitches and we were on our way home. We let him have his paci all afternoon and went out for a cupcake, so all in all, I think Graham had a pretty great afternoon ... not to mention the drugs!!

Sweetness

My sweet husband pulled off a sweet little early 3oth birthday luncheon with my sweet friends for me today. He obviously knows me so well because he had it planned out so perfectly. About a month ago, I told him that I did not want him to throw me a surprise party ... I just didn't want all of our friends to have to get babysitters and have a big night out. So, he planned this party at Richland on a Thursday while they have childcare, so my friends just had to drop their kids off downstairs. Oh, and even better for me, he came home and kept our 3, so I didn't have to lug them all there ... it truly was a very freeing feeling just up and leaving and getting to go out to lunch. I see these girls ALL the time, but we almost ALWAYS have our kids with us, so it was nice to be dressed up, have a leisurely lunch, and have uninterupted conversations. Oh, and another thing that made this so wonderful was that within 10 minutes of me getting home I got to put all 3 boys down for their naps :) It has been a very sweet day, and I have felt very loved by my husband for putting this together and my friends for making the time and effort to be with me. God is so good to me for putting these Godly women in my life to raise kids (mostly boys) together AND especially for the amazing husband he has given me to be my true companion in life. Thanks Kev - I love you more than words can express!!

Sea Island a.k.a "The Island"

We just returned from a FABULOUS week at the beach!!! Luke and Carter LOVED the pool and hot tub and seemed to enjoy the beach well ... they did eat quite a bit of sand, though. I'm pretty sure that my parents house in Sea Island (or The Island as Graham calls it) is Graham's version of heaven. There is a pool and hot tub in the backyard as well as the 18th green of an awesome golf course AND the beach is just beyond the green ... oh, and to top it all off, there is a driving range about 15 yards from the front door ... he was out there twice a day :) He also got to play non-stop with his cousins. I'm afraid he is going to be in major golf/playmate withdrawal now that we're back. Thanks to Snacks and Bet Bet for making our trip SO incredible!!

Angels and Demons

I've decided lately that two year olds are very interesting creatures. Some of the time I am head over heels for Graham and absolutely love all of the joy and laughter he brings. But other times I can't stand to be around him and despise all of the sorrow and tears he brings. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to teach him to be gentle (any suggestions, bring 'em on) and his endless energy wears me out ... I have so little left to give after taking care of 3 little ones AND a husband, too. I asked him the other day to PLEASE give me some of his energy. I also get frustrated when he won't do what I ask him to do (I'm sure God says the same thing about me!) ... that's probably the biggest reason I think the twins are so easy right now - they do exactly what I want them to do. I am very fearful of having 2 two-year olds, but I can't let my mind go there right now. BUT (and that is a very big but), the kid totally cracks me up and brings a smile to my face multiple times a day. A few days ago I told him it was time to clean up the playroom before we ate lunch, and he said, "I'm just going watch you Mommy" as he lounged on the bean bag - where does he come up with this stuff? Also, he is totally obsessed (and I mean OBSESSED) with golf these days, and watching his excitement for it is infectious ... he asks me almost daily to read Golf Digest to him. We got him 2 more clubs and a golf bag and he LOVES going to Richland with Kevin (he even got a blister from hitting so much). I love how happy he sounds when he says, "Luke/Carter smiled at me" and he's always asking where they are and wanting to be with them. I do feel confident that the 3 of them are going to be really tight!! And one night last week, it totally warmed my heart to find him asleep in his bed with his Bible book open across his chest. Thankfully, there are more positives than negatives and the love is so rich!! We're off to Sea Island tomorrow for a week with my parents and brothers ... hopefully I'll be bringing Angel Graham instead of Demon Graham :)

Kevin left town for work AGAIN this morning ... why do these things always seem to happen when I'm flying solo?!?! After breakfast, Graham was helping me unload the dishwasher (which now that I'm thinking about it didn't get finished ... I better get on that) and I heard some rattling and crunching. I look around the fridge to find that Luke and Carter had pulled out some cereal from the pantry and were going to town. Hurry home, Kev!!

8 Months Old

Better late than never ... Luke and Carter turned 8 months old on May 1. I am their mommy, so I'm allowed to say it but these two boys are the cutest things in the whole wide world ... I just want to eat them up!!!! They are both crawling EVERYWHERE, pulling up on EVERYTHING, and even starting to cruise. They have cut back to just 2 naps a day and have 3 feedings and 3 meals ... they are eating mostly table foods these days. Carter has 6 teeth and has cut 2 more and Luke just has 2 teeth but finally cut a top tooth this week. They really are interacting with each other a lot more ... Carter does not like it when Luke takes his toy :) I know it's so cliche to say it, but with twins it truly is double the love and joy!! It's definitely A LOT of work, but I LOVE being a mommy of twins.

p.s. sorry for all of the details, but if I don't write it down I'll never remember all of these milestones

Best Buddies

I'm not exactly sure why but during my pregnancy I didn't really think about my twins being best friends very much ... maybe it was because we didn't know their sexes. But from the moment they were born, and I knew we had twin boys (and another boy not even 2 years older) I have been praying so fervently that they will be best friends. Now that they are crawling everywhere and beginning to play more, it has been SO fun watching them interact. I also love listening to them laughing at each other over the monitor. Twins by nature seem to have a special bond, and again, I hope and pray that my sweet Luke and Carter continue to stay close throughout their life. Visit to Clanton and Birmingham

I drove down to Alabama yesterday to visit my grandfather and college roommate, Robin. Luke and Carter were great travelers and I really enjoyed my little excursion. PaPa was really excited to see us and I loved that he was able to meet my twins, esp. since he is a twin himself. And of course my time with Robin was also wonderful ... she was such a gracious hostess and her little Anna is too precious (she must have said "baby" 50 times!!). Kevin and Graham stayed here and had a fun Daddy/son weekend with all of the rain/floods here (we've got some water in our crawl space but no other damage, thankfully).

Favorite Pastime

Our favorite pastime lately has been bike/wagon rides. Graham rides his bike down our street while I pull the babies in the wagon. He is good about stopping or even getting off his bike when cars come. I think he loves feeling like such a big boy. Luke and Carter LOVE the wagon ... I catch them looking and giggling at each other often :) I'm really enjoying the beautiful spring weather and all the fun I have with my 3 little boys!!!!!

Graham was the Star Student this week at his school ... he was SO excited and loved feeling extra special. Kevin went to read stories to his class on Tuesday and I went in and made a craft with his class today. Our little boy really is growing up ... way too fast it seems.

Watch out Nashville streets ... here I come!! Seriously, I do take up about a fourth of the road in this triple wide :) I purchased a used triple stroller last week and have already used it about 5 times. We even took it to the zoo on Saturday ... they had to open the exit for us to enter because we couldn't fit through the regular gate :) Oh, the life I lead!! Kevin left again this morning until Thur. night, so pray that I survive the next 4 days.

We had a glorious Easter ... SO thankful that Christ died for our sins to set us free and rose from the grave. 7 Months Old

Our little buddies are already 7 months old!! They are both sitting up completely on their own now, and Carter is pulling up and army crawling and Luke is thinking about it!! I took them in this morning for their "6 month" check-up. Luke (17 lbs. 9 oz) is still a good bit bigger than Carter (15 lbs. 8 oz), but they are both growing at a great rate, so that's what really matters. Carter just be a small little guy :) Honestly, I'm pretty happy that at least one of them is kind of little because it's getting very heavy lugging them around everywhere!! Everything else looked great except that they both have ear infections :( Thankfully, they are sleeping well and mostly happy and hopefully the medicine will clear it up quickly. We had a wonderful Easter yesterday ... more pics to come later.

Kevin left on a 6 a.m. flight this morning and doesn't return until Sunday. I'm already well into day 1 and it hasn't quite hit me yet. I guess I'm just trying to believe that it's not real that I am here ALONE with my 3 small children (2 of whom can do NOTHING for themselves and 1 of whom can do very little for himself). Survival is my motto for the next 4 1/2 days ... especially since already Graham found a sharpie marker ... thankfully most of the damage was to himself ... nice Hitler stache!!!

Spring Break in Memphis

I had not left the Nashville city limits in 2010 and was itching to get to Memphis to see my parents' new house (and them, of course), so we hit the road for a fun-filled week. It was nice to have a constant extra pair of hands around and the new house is a little boy's paradise, so Graham was in heaven :) We spent lots of time with Wilson's family ... Graham couldn't get enough play time with Wils (or "Wheels" as my little hick likes to say). I got to see other family and friends and really had an awesome time!! My two favorite memories from the trip: #1, If you ask Graham what his Daddy does at work, he will respond, "counts beans" so when he asked me where Pops was, I told him that he was at work and Graham asked "Does he count beans like my daddy?" I about lost it :) And #2, On Sat. night Wilson's family came over and we roasted hot dogs and s'mores in the fire pit. It was the first time to use the pit, and we're not sure if it was the wood or not, but the fire exploded 5-7 times. Each time, my dad would yell, "fire in the hole." You definitely had to be there, but we were all cracking up!!!

6 Months Old

Luke and Carter are already 6 months old!!!! They are both rolling all over the place. Carter has 2 teeth, and Luke has 1 tooth. They are eating 3 meals a day, have 3 feedings, and still take 3 naps. They are on a great schedule but are flexible since they've got to keep up with Graham, too. They are smiling, laughing, and babbling and simply precious baby boys :) We are truly doubly blessed!!!!!

Yes, my boys are almost 6 months old and I'm just now finally finishing up their nursery. Oh well ... they haven't complained :) My friend, Katherine, came over today and painted their names above their cribs. I love it and feel like it has definitely pulled the room together!! Ok, I had to stay up and see the ice skating, but now I'm off to bed ... I'm beat.

It's freaky to me how much Luke looks like Graham did as a baby. Even people who don't know us well will look at Luke and comment on how much he looks like Graham. Kevin and I think that when they all even out as teenagers or so that Graham and Luke will look like the twins instead :)
